When you arrive, begin in the Amish Experience Theatre with the compelling film titled "Jacob's Choice." It's the tale of an Amish family trying to preserve their Old Order lifestyle, and centers on young Jacob and his emotional struggle to choose between the Amish church and the allure of the modern world. Following the movie, tour the onsite Amish Country Homestead. It includes a traditional house and one-room school that accurately and sensitively portray the Amish as they live and work in today’s world. The tour also helps you better understand some of the Amish traditions and practices.
Next, hop on a shuttle and take the Amish Farmlands Tour. You'll travel the back roads and take in the gorgeous Lancaster countryside. See a patchwork of farms, horses and buggies, roadside stands, and bake shops. Even stop in to see a craft or quilt shop on an Amish farm. To immerse yourself in the Amish culture, choose the Amish VIP Tour. This is where you'll meet and talk with Amish farmers and craftspeople, visit their farms, and sit down in their homes.
