Adjacent to the historic Inn & Spa at Intercourse Village is a quaint, walkable village of shops and restaurants that offer a taste of Amish Country treats, unique gifts, fashionable clothing and accessories, and plenty of quintessential Lancaster hospitality.
Today, the Kitchen Kettle Village boasts more than 40 stores featuring goods from local cooks, artists and shopkeepers. But the origins of this Lancaster County destination date back some 60 years when Bob and Pat Burnley started a jelly business in their garage. That jelly business – Jam and Relish Kitchen – is still going strong, offering homemade Pennsylvania Dutch canned and baked goods from their third-generation, family-run kitchen. From fruit jams and butter to fresh-baked pies and cookies, to canned relish and pickles – everything from their kitchen celebrates the bounty of local farms and the region's heritage.
With its roots in Pennsylvania Dutch cooking, you'll find even more delicious treats as you stroll through Kitchen Kettle Village. Satisfy your sweet tooth at Pepper Lane Fudge and Sweets, where decadent fudge is made right before your eyes on marble slabs. Or try their nut clusters, caramels and more. If savory is more pleasing to your palate, stop by Aged and Cured for a variety of smoked meats, cheeses, jerkies and snacks. And don't leave without grabbing an authentic Pennsylvania Dutch soft pretzel from MOMS Pretzels, where all proceeds from sales are donated to local charities.
If you're looking for a sit-down meal, the Kling House Restaurant is the Burnley family's farmhouse turned restaurant that offers diners a delicious meal at breakfast and lunch. Dine outside on the terrace and watch Amish buggies go by as you enjoy their signature coconut cream pie. Or try the Harvest Cafe for a meal made with fresh, simple ingredients with cafeteria-style service. Enjoy homemade soups, burgers and sandwiches, fresh-cut fries, salads, and more.
Once you've filled your belly, stroll through the village to do a little shopping. Whether you're looking for a unique gift item for a friend or a little something for yourself, Kitchen Kettle Village has shops that offer art, apparel, accessories and so much more. Find locally-made pottery at Garnett Pottery or unique candles in every fragrance at By Candle Light. Girls Day Out offers the ultimate girlfriend shopping experience for clothing and accessories, and Paw Prints has gifts and treats for your four-legged or feathered friends.
